Fife Flyers History

1980’s

For many this decade was the golden era of both Flyers and UK hockey with the formation of the first unified British league set up since the fateful mid 1950’s. It was the advent of Heineken sponsorship and the Wembley Play Off Final weekends. The Flyers introduced to the UK a host of high class imports backed up by a strong contingent of home grown players in a semi-professional structure played before huge crowds.
