WEEK 24 of the 2023/24 Elite Ice Hockey League season and it’s a huge derby weekend as the Flyers and Glasgow Clan go head to head over two nights in the race for a playoff position.

It’s a massive weekend for both the Flyers and Clan with the race for the final play off positions reaching a climax. This will be the final two meetings of the regular season and the first since the teams met to close out 2023. Since then the Clan were eliminated in the Challenge Cup semi-final by the Guildford Flames. In league business the Clan opened up 2024 with a shootout win in Dundee before back to back wins against the Sheffield Steelers home and away. Dundee exacted some revenge with a 4-3 overtime win before the Clan’s losing streak in the league was extended to five games when they lost at the Manchester Storm 7-3. The slide was arrested with a 6-3 win in Nottingham after they were 3-0 down and scored five in the final period. The Storm won in Braehead before the Clan picked up both points with a shootout win on the road against the Coventry Blaze. February began with another pair of games against the Steelers and another two losses including a 9-3 scoreline in Sheffield before another goal fest the following weekend when the Belfast won 8-5 in Glasgow. Road losses in Nottingham and Coventry saw another five gamer skid which ended with a 4-2 win against the Blaze at Braehead. The Guildford Flames were defeated 3-2 before the Clan produced their biggest win so far of the season when they shellacked the Panthers 9-3 in Glasgow last Saturday night. The following night in Dundee however the Clan were on the wrong end of a 7-3 scoreline.
