Stephen Desrocher, 27, has agreed terms with the Fife Flyers which will see him join the defensive core for the 23/24 season. The 6ft 4 inch left shooter spent last season at HC Meran/o alongside another Flyers new recruit – Lucas Chiodo. After arriving with the Alps Hockey League side in October, he notched up 5 points in 10 outings. A former Toronto Maple Leafs draft pick, Desrocher registered 128 points in 243 appearances over 5 seasons in the OHL. During this time, he wore an ‘A’ for the Oshawa Generals and a ‘C’ for the Kingston Frontenacs. He also lifted the OHL Championship and Memorial Cup during the 2015 season with the Oshawa Generals. From there, Desrocher joined the University of Western Ontario for the 17/18 season. Over 5 seasons, he posted 30 points in 65 games and was named captain. During the 21/22 season, Desrocher signed an AHL contract with the Milwaukee Admirals which saw him assigned to the Florida Everblades. As part of the Everblades, he lifted the Kelly Cup.

He is a Memorial Cup (Canadian Major Junior) champion as well as a recent ECHL Kelly Cup Champion. He is a smooth-skating defenseman with good size and reach. Steve will definitely add stability to our blueline group.”

Desrocher added, “I’m very excited to join the Flyers and can’t wait to meet the team, staff and fans. I’m eager to start the season and looking forward to contributing at both ends of the ice. Our roster is shaping up nicely, and I am confident we will have a successful season.”
