Fife Flyers History

1990’s

Following an early hiccup in which the Flyers were demoted from the top tier of UK hockey for a season the winds of change blew through the sport again with the era of professional hockey being re-introduced following a number of teams creating the Ice Hockey Superleague. The Flyers resisted this step and helped establish a new National semi-professional league which heralded another period of rich success whilst allowing the conveyer belt of locally developed talent an opportunity to play at a highly competitive level alongside a modest number of imported players.
