The Kingdom Mid-Week Recap – Week 7

On Wednesday night……

Fife Flyers 2         Dundee Stars 3     Shootout                   –  Challenge Cup    

The Flyers have points in their last 4 meetings with Stars, their best return since the end of 2022/23 and start of 2023/24 seasons.

The Flyers opening goal was their fastest goal in a game this season and also fastest given up by the Stars in a game this term

The Flyers won the opening period which was their first period win in the last 15, the last time being against the Guildford Flames on 11th October – during this time they were 3 and 11.

The Flyers are now 5 and 7 in shootouts against the Stars and all-time 34 and 31 in all EIHL competitions.

It was the first defeat in the Challenge Cup at home in a shootout for the Flyers who are now 4 and 1 in that competition when going to the skills contest.

Josh Winquist recorded 28.17 time on ice which is a new team high this season for a Flyers forward.

Vlastimil Dostalek was the scorer of Flyers  400th goal in all EIHL competitions against Stars which includes shootout winners.

The 71 face offs was a season high for a Flyers game this term and the 3rd consecutive game that the Flyers have been on the positive side of the ledger at the dot.
