Weekend Recap – Week 27

On Sunday night……

Fife Flyers 4  Belfast Giants 3   Overtime – Elite League

The Flyers snapped their 13 game home ice losing streak against the Giants with their first win since November 2019 against Belfast.

Congratulations to Shane Owen who played his 300th game for the Flyers.

Troy Lajeunesse has the active hot stick as he has goals in the last three games and points in each of the last eight games.

Teemu Pulkkinen also has points in the last five games and leads the team this season in Game Winning Goals now with 5

Teemu also leads the team in powerplay goals as he notched his 10th of the season in all EIHL competitions

Troy Lajeunesse is Flyers top scorer this season against the Giants with 6 goals. Ben Lake also with 6 goals is Giants top scorer against the Flyers this term.

The Flyers are now 3 wins and 7 losses in overtime games this season with this being their first success on home ice. All-time in all EIHL competitions the Flyers are now 32 wins and 35 defeats in games decided by overtime.

Against the Giants in all EIHL competitions the Flyers now have 2 wins and 5 defeats in overtime games.

The Flyers now occupy 6th place in the standings, their highest league position this season which they last occupied week commencing 23rd October having played just two games.
