The Fife Flyers are delighted to announce the signing of Slovak forward Michael Drábek ahead of the 2026/27 Elite Ice Hockey League season.
The 24-year-old winger arrives in Fife after spending the majority of his professional career in Slovakia, most recently with Vlci Žilina.
Drábek developed through the Czech youth system before making the step into senior hockey, gaining valuable experience across Slovakia’s top divisions.
The Partizánske native has iced for several teams in the Slovak Extraliga, including HK Nitra, HK Dukla Trenčín, HK 32 Liptovský Mikuláš, HK Spišská Nová Ves and Vlci Žilina.
During his time with HK Nitra, Drábek was part of the squad that lifted the IIHF Continental Cup in 2023, defeating the Cardiff Devils 3-2 in the final to secure the championship.
The 6’0” forward joins the Flyers with extensive European hockey knowledge and will add another experienced option to Tim Wallace’s forward group ahead of the new campaign.
Speaking on the signing, Tim Wallace said:
“Michael is a player with the speed and skill to make a real impact in Fife. He has spent the past few years playing at a high level, often in a limited role, and I believe he has another level to his game.”
“He wants to prove what he can do in the right environment, and if he plays the right way, he has the ability to be a difference maker for us. I’m excited to work with him and see what he can accomplish this season.”
Welcome to Fife, Michael! 💙💛
