The Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club are delighted to announce the signing of Canadian forward Lucas Chard for the 2026/27 Elite Ice Hockey League season.
The 22-year-old joins the Flyers following time with Wilfrid Laurier University, in USports, where in his most recent season he recorded 30 points in 24 games. The Burlington native now makes the move overseas as he joins Tim Wallace’s squad for the upcoming campaign.
Prior to his collegiate career, Chard spent three seasons with the London Nationals of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL), recording 185 points in 126 appearances, ranking him sixth on the franchise’s all-time point scoring list. He was also named the GOJHL’s Most Valuable Player for the 2023/24 season.
Speaking on the signing, Tim Wallace said “Lucas is a skilled centre with a high hockey IQ and a strong understanding of the game. He has found a way to be effective wherever he has played, and that speaks to his character, adaptability, and work ethic.”
“Lucas will add depth to our lineup and give us another player who can help create offence. I expect him to put the work in this summer, come in prepared, and make the most of this opportunity.”
Chard arrives in Fife eager to begin the next chapter of his career and establish himself in the professional ranks. His skill and versatility will add further depth to the Flyers’ forward group as preparations continue for the 2026/27 season.
Everyone at the Fife Flyers would like to welcome Lucas to the club and wish him every success in blue and gold.
Welcome to Fife, Lucas! 🏒
