The Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club are delighted to announce the signing of forward Kyle Watson ahead of the 2026/27 Elite Ice Hockey League season.
The 25 year old English forward joins the Flyers following recent experience within the Sheffield Steelers and Sheffield Steeldogs setup.
Born in Wakefield, Watson developed through the Sheffield junior system, before moving overseas to continue his development in North America.
Watson spent nine seasons in the United States, with the final four of those coming at NCAA Division III level with Trine University.
Following the completion of his university career, Watson returned to the UK to join the Sheffield Steeldogs on a two-way agreement with the Sheffield Steelers, gaining valuable senior experience across both the NIHL and Elite League.
During his most recent season, Watson achieved 26 goals, 32 assists for 58 points across 47 games with the Steeldogs, and 1 goal and 2 assists in 13 games with the Steelers.
Speaking on the signing of Kyle Watson, head coach Tim Wallace said “Kyle is a player I watched a lot this past season. He has a lot of potential to become a solid player in this league. His ability to get into scoring areas and his willingness to compete are what stood out to me the most.
His skill with the puck is his biggest attribute, and with the right work ethic and commitment, he will be a huge piece of our club going forward.”
