The Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club are delighted to announce the first signing ahead of the 2026/27 season, with Captain Garet Hunt set to return to the Kingdom.

Hunt will rejoin the club in a dual role as player/assistant coach, following his valuable contributions during the 2025/26 campaign.

As Captain, he has truly embodied the spirit and pride of the club, representing everything it means to be a Flyer both on the ice and within the local community, with his grit and hard work.

Boasting a wealth of experience, Hunt previously wore both the ‘A’ and ‘C’ over 12 separate professional seasons. His career has seen him compete across Europe, North America and Asia, including stints in the AHL, KHL, ECHL, and Erste Liga, bringing a depth of knowledge and leadership few can rival that will be vital for the season ahead.

Speaking on his return, Hunt said:

“I can’t thank the entire community of Fife and the Flyers organisation enough for all the support, it’s made my experience in the Kingdom this past season amazing! There’s so much potential here in this organisation that made it an easy decision on wanting to come back. I’m excited for the opportunity to return and look forward to seeing everyone next season.”
