Last weekend was certainly a mixed bag as we struggled on the road at Belfast but rebounded with a gutsy effort against Glasgow. With so many forwards injured, we have a lot of younger players getting significant minutes and large roles. It is a learning process which will pay dividends down the road. Our British players have received a lot of opportunity and I like the early development of Mason Alderson, Ben Brown and Brodie Kay. Aiden Wilson had an early set back with an injury but brought a spark and good energy last weekend.
On the injury front, Justin Ducharme will likely be out another week or two. Didrik Svendsen will miss this weekend against Dundee. We are excited to get back Vlastimil Dostalek whilst Johan Porsberger is day to day.
We are striving to be more consistant with our compete levels. Our younger pros are learning that to be successful, we need to bring our work boots and passion EVERY shift and EVERY game. We have a great group that cares and wants to represent Fife proudly.
This weekend against Dundee will see us at home on a Saturday night which will be great for our fans. The crowd support has been terrific and makes a huge difference.
Our goal is to make Fife Ice Arena the worst trip in the league for opponents! Our team wants to have a strong partnership with our fans to create that atmosphere and environment.
Max and I are working hard to bring in more players to bolster our depth as we navigate this difficult stretch. Our ownership has been incredibly supportive to help us as we work through this.
