The Flyers last meet the Steelers in mid-February when they were on the wrong end of a lopsided Sheffield win. The following weekend the Steelers last in a 3-2 shootout on home ice against the Panthers before reversing that score line the next night at the Spectrum against the Flames. A heavy midweek defeat in Cardiff was followed up by another humbling as the Coventry Blaze came into the Utilita Arena to shut the Steelers out whilst scoring six in the process which so far is the biggest defeat on the season for the Yorkshire side. 24 hours later and the Steelers rebounded with an emphatic 10-4 win on Tayside against the Stars but once again were defeated by bitter rivals Nottingham in a shootout in their next outing. Their next three games were all on home ice and resulted in one goals wins as they saw off the Glasgow Clan, Guildford Flames and Cardiff Devils. Last weekend they started on the road in Glasgow where they handed the Clan their heaviest defeat of the season with a 10-2 score line. The following night back on home ice the Steelers saw off the Manchester Storm. Ahead of their visit to Fife the Steelers were at home to the Dundee Stars.
