The Fife Flyers are delighted to announce the signing of Finnish forward Mika Partanen for the 2026/27 Motorpoint Elite League season.

The 33-year-old arrives in Fife with a wealth of experience gained across some of Europe’s top leagues, having iced in the Finnish Liiga, the KHL, Norway’s EHL and, most recently, Poland’s PHL.

Standing at 6’3″, Partanen has consistently produced throughout his professional career, combining offensive ability with a strong physical game and veteran presence.

After progressing through HIFK’s junior system in Finland, Partanen spent two seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors before returning home to begin his professional career. Since then, he has built an impressive résumé across Europe, delivering consistent offensive production throughout.

Most recently, Partanen laced up the skates in Poland, where he recorded 15 goals and 27 assists for 42 points in 36 games.

Head Coach and General Manager Tim Wallace believes Partanen will add another important dimension to the Flyers’ attack.

“Mika brings a combination of size, strength and skill that is becoming increasingly rare in today’s game.”

“He uses his frame exceptionally well to protect the puck, has a heavy, accurate shot and possesses the hands to make plays in tight areas. He’s a player who can impact the game in multiple ways, and we’re excited to see what he can accomplish in a Flyers jersey.”

Partanen becomes the latest addition to Tim Wallace’s squad as preparations continue for the 2026/27 campaign.
