Fife Flyers re-sign defenseman Cole Giannandrea on two-way agreement

The Fife Flyers are delighted to confirm that defenseman Cole Giannandrea has re-signed with the club ahead of the 2026/27 Elite Ice Hockey League season.

The 17-year-old will continue his development as part of a two-way agreement, splitting his time between the Flyers, the Kirkcaldy Kestrels and a National Ice Hockey League (NIHL) club during the coming season, which will be confirmed in due course.

A product of Fife’s junior system, Giannandrea earned his first Elite Ice Hockey League appearances for the Flyers last season after progressing through the club’s development ranks. The young defenseman has consistently impressed and played beyond his years throughout his junior career so far and the club are excited to see him continue to develop.

He also gained valuable experience in the NIHL with Milton Keynes under current Flyers Head Coach Tim Wallace, adding further experience against senior opposition.

His return reflects the Flyers’ ongoing commitment to developing homegrown talent, with the two-way agreement allowing Giannandrea to play regular competitive hockey while continuing to develop within the Elite League environment.

Speaking on the signing, Head Coach Tim Wallace said “Cole has a lot of potential, and I’m excited to work with him more extensively this season. From the time I spent with him last year, it was clear he has the tools to become a very good player. He is a smooth skater with good vision, passing ability and puck skills. We’re excited to continue working with him and helping him develop.”

Welcome back Cole!
