Fife Flyers are delighted to announce the signing of Swedish defenceman Victor Björkung for the 2026/27 season.

The 33-year-old from Stockholm, Sweden arrives in Fife bringing a wealth of experience from a professional career spanning more than a decade across Europe, including time in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, France, Poland, Slovakia and the United Kingdom, including a spell with Nottingham Panthers in the EIHL during the 2023/24 season.

A steady and dependable presence on the blue line, Björkung is known for his strong defensive play, composure with the puck and ability to contribute in all situations. Throughout his career he has consistently been trusted with significant minutes and leadership responsibilities, serving as an alternate captain at various stages of his professional journey.

In 2024/25 Björkung recorded 33 points in 42 games with Marseille in France’s Ligue Magnus before moving to Poland for the 2025/26 season , where he registered 5 points in 8 games with Zaglebie Sosnowiec.

Head Coach Tim Wallace added “Victor is a high-end skating defenceman with the skill set to impact the game in a lot of different ways. He sees the ice well, makes plays under pressure, and has the ability to change the pace of the game with his skating or his first pass.”

“He should be an important piece on our power play and help us create offence from the back end. We expect him to play big minutes, take responsibility in key situations, and bring leadership to our group.”
