SOLDER SETS SIGHTS ON FIFE

The Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club are delighted to announce the signing of defenceman Ben Solder ahead of the 2026/27 Elite Ice Hockey League season.

The 25-year-old English blueliner joins the Flyers following recent EIHL experience with the Guildford Flames.

Born in Chelmsford, Solder began his development in England before continuing his junior hockey overseas with the Ontario Hockey Academy in Canada, helping shape his early career.

Solder first stepped into Elite League hockey with the Manchester Storm, making his league debut during the 2020/21 campaign. Across spells with the Storm, he gained valuable experience competing at the highest level of British hockey, continuing his development against some of the league’s top talent.

Following his league debut in Manchester, Solder joined the Bristol Pitbulls of the NIHL, where he wore the ‘A’, and recorded 7 goals and 22 assists across 51 games.

Most recently, Solder iced for the Guildford Flames, taking the next step in his professional career and adding further EIHL experience to his resume ahead of his move to Fife.

Speaking on the signing of Solder, head coach Tim Wallace said “Solds is a competitive player who continues to improve year after year. I know him very well, and he has the compete level and all-around game to really help us this season.”

“He can impact the game in a lot of different ways – he skates well, shoots the puck, competes in battles, and has a good stick. This is a big year for him to establish himself as a reliable two-way defenceman in this league, and we’re excited to have him with us.”
