Patrick Kyte Flies in to Fife

Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club are delighted to announce the signing of 5’11” left shooting defenseman Patrick Kyte.

Season 2024/25 marks Patrick’s first season playing professional hockey after spending the last four seasons in the USports league with both St Francis Xavier University and the University of New Brunswick.

Known by his friends and family as ‘Patty’, Kyte played Major Junior hockey for three seasons in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League with both the Halifax Mooseheads and Chicoutimi Sagueneens. Patrick also went to the Memorial Cup Championship game with the Mooseheads and spent two seasons playing alongside ex Flyer Adam Holwell with St Francis Xavier University. Last season he transferred to fierce rivals New Brunswick and went on to win a repeat Championship with them as the Reds went undefeated throughout the entire season.

On signing with the Flyers, Patrick commented “I’m honoured and thrilled to be a part of the Fife Flyers, whose history and success runs deep within professional ice hockey in the UK. I’m excited to play under Coach Coolen, his staff, and in front of a great fan base.”

Head Coach Tom Coolen added ” Patrick Kyte is a very mobile defenseman who can play in all situations and did so as a member of the Canadian National University Champions the University of New Brunswick.”
