Flyers complete Continental Cup trio of signings with the addition of Maxim Musorov

Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club are excited to announce the signing of 23 year old right shooting forward
Maxim Musorov.

Maxim brings four years KHL experience with him where he played 75 games for Barys Astana. The Kazakhstan Capital of Astana hosts the only Kazakhstan team in the KHL and Nomad Astana with whom Maxim also played last season is their affiliate team playing in the Kazakhstan Hockey Championship.

Nomad finished third in the title race last term but it was the Continental Cup where they enjoyed most success when they went undefeated in the final two rounds, including handing the Devils two defeats, to lift the title in January in Cardiff.

Maxim top scored in the Cup run for Nomad with 4 goals and 5 assists. Maxim and line mates Nikolai Shulga and Artur Gatiyatov proved to be a force to be reckoned with during the Continental Cup run combining to produce 24 points in total.

Maxim has represented Kazakhstan in the last two World Championships as well as at U20 level where he led the team in points in 2018/19.

On signing Maxim, Head Coach Tom Coolen said “Musorov is a hard working winger, quick, with a good shot and ready to battle. He brings KHL and World Championship experience.”

“As a line, this threesome was especially productive whilst leading Nomad Astana to the Continental Cup Championship. The combination of Gatiyatov, Shulga and Musorov led the way to the Gold medal as the top 3 scorers for the winning side against excellent competition including the host Cardiff Devils.”
