Preece Completes Netminding Duo

Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club are pleased to announce the signing of Homegrown netminder Brython Preece.

No stranger to Fife Ice Arena, the Welshman makes a return to the Elite Ice Hockey League where he previously iced 3 seasons with rivals Dundee Stars posting a saves percentage of .848% across 32 games with the club.

During the 21/22 season with the Stars, Preece backed up former Flyers goalie Adam Morrison. In March of that season, Preece made his first start for the Stars and held that position for most of the season’s remaining games after Morrison sustained an injury.

Last season saw Preece take up a starter’s role with the Berkshire Bees Ice Hockey Club in the National Ice Hockey League. There he posted a saves% of .881 in 44 regular season games and .848 across 6 post season games. A product of the Cardiff Devils junior system, Preece has also had stints at the Ontario Hockey Academy, the Utah Outliers of the WSHL and Coventry Blaze in the EIHL.

On signing Preece, Head Coach Tom Coolen commented “Brython comes to us with game experience from the EIHL and the motivation to become a better player. He is a welcome addition.”

On signing with the Flyers Preece added, “I’m very excited to join the Flyers. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the club and Coach Coolen. I’m excited to get the season underway!”
