Weekend Recap – Week 19

On Saturday night……

Dundee Stars 3 Fife Flyers 2  OT   – Elite League

The Stars made it four from four wins against the Flyers in league play this season with their 4th consecutive win against the Flyers – before that the Flyers had beaten Stars in five consecutive games.

Max Humitz missed his first game of the season which means that there are now no ever present players this season.

It’s the first ever season in the EIHL era where the Flyers have not had a player(s) who have played in all games.

Flyers are now 1 win and 4 losses in overtime games this season and 2 wins and 8 losses over the last two seasons.

Collin Shirley’s powerplay goal ended a streak of five games for Flyers without a goal with the man advantage.

Collin Shirley remains the hot hand against the Stars for Flyers with his team leading 5th goal against Dundee this season.

Troy Lajeunesse extended his points streak to seven games, a personal and team best for the season.

 

On Sunday night……

Fife Flyers 3 Cardiff Devils 4 – Elite League

Troy Lajeunesse extended his points streak to 9 games which is a personal and team high for the season.

It is also the Flyers best streak since Matt Carter went 9 games with points in season 2021/22.

10 games is the Flyers best streak ever in the EIHL era held jointly by Paul Crowder (2018/19) and Michael Dorr (2015/16).

It was his 4th multi goal game which again leads the team – seven different players have had multi goal games.

Flyers are 0 wins and 9 losses when losing the second period at home and 0 wins and 6 losses when they lose the third period at home this season.

Flyers missed the opportunity to win back to back games against the Devils for the first time in the EIHL era.

Flyers have been outshout in 32 of their 42 games in all EIHL competitions this season.
