Fife Flyers make defensive change

Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club are pleased to announce the signing of 6ft 1 inch defenseman Sean Giles.

The 27 year old Colorado Native flies into Fife for his fourth professional season after spending last year in the Slovak Extraliga. In the top tier of Slovakian hockey with HC Prešov, Giles registered 26 points (5 goals + 21 assists) in 50 outings.

No stranger to the Flyers Alumni, Giles laced them up alongside current Flyer Ben Hawerchuk in the East Coast Hockey League during the 21/22 season with the Jacksonville Icemen amassing 14 points in 64 games. Prior to that, he iced alongside former Flyer Jacob Benson with the Knoxville Ice Bears of the SPHL (Southern Professional Hockey League) registering 4 points across the season.

Commenting on his arrival, Giles stated, “I am really looking forward to the opportunity ahead in Fife. Coach Coolen and I have spoken about the goals of the team moving forward, and I want to help build that success.”

Coach Tom Coolen added, “Sean Giles played top minutes in all situations in the Slovak Extraliga. He skates well and will be a big addition to the Fife Flyer Blueline group.”
