Dillon Lawrence makes the trip south to join Flyers

Fife Flyers are delighted to welcome versatile centre Dillon Lawrence to Kirkcaldy for the 2022/23 Elite Ice Hockey League season.

The 27-year-old joins the Flyers from rivals Dundee Stars where he made 49 appearances and notched up nine goals and 11 assists.

This will mark Lawrence's fifth season in the EIHL, he has had previous spells at Coventry Blaze, where he spent two years and he made his Elite League debut in 2017 with the Edinburgh Capitals.

He has also spent time Down Under, where he played in the Australian AIHL with Melbourne Ice. Plus, he had a brief season in France with second division side Dunkerque in 2020/21 before the season was cut short.

Commenting on making the move to Fife, Lawrence said:

"I am looking to continue to develop and improve in this league and be a factor in helping win games.

"I have been in the league a few years now and have seen the level rise since I started. I hope to bring some experience and help contribute to a team thatís hard to play against and be exciting to watch.

"I like to be a well-rounded player that can be relied on at both ends of the ice. I am confident in my ability to provide offence and looking forward to the opportunity to do so.

"I'm excited to be on the right side of the fan base in Fife, it's always been a fun atmosphere to play in and we will work hard to put together a good season for them."

Adding, Fife Flyers Associate Coach Jeff Hutchins said:

"Dillon is a strong skater and very versatile, he can play centre and on the wing. He is a good penalty killer and we believe that he has more to give from an offensive perspective.

"Two of the areas we struggled with last year were face offs and penalty killing, Dillon will certainly help in those areas whilst contributing on the offensive side of things."
