Flyers sign 'Speedy Forward' Brandon Magee

The UNISON Fife Health Branch Fife Flyers are delighted to announce the capture of centreman Brandon Magee for the remainder of the 2021/22 Elite Ice Hockey League season.

Subject to the completion of his registration with the EIHL, the Edmonton native will be in the lineup for the Flyers this weekend.

The 27-year-old joins the Flyers with experience in several countries. He made his pro debut in the Canadian WHL league with the Chilliwack Bruins, before signing with the Victoria Royals. Upon leaving the WHL he left as the Royals top points scorer in the club's history, with 274 appearances and scoring 261 points.

Magee then went on to have a brief spell in the ECHL with the Idaho Steelheads and the South Carolina Stingrays before moving on to play at the University of Alberta to study arts.

He then made the trip overseas to China to ice in the KHL with Kunlun Red Star in season 2019-20.

Brandon makes the move to Fife after signing for Czech side HC Kometa Brno this season, where he made 20 appearances.

Commenting on the signing, head coach Todd Dutiaume said:

"Brandon ticks a number of boxes for us, one being that he will fill one of our centre positions. He is a very speedy forward that will contribute offensively.

"He is a strong competitor and is a guy we have been pursuing for what feels like quite some time and we managed to get it over the line earlier in the week and we are delighted to have Brandon joining the team."
