Allan Anderson and Josh Scoon return

Fife Flyers IHC are delighted to confirm that local talent Josh Scoon and Allan Anderson are back with the Flyers for the 2014/15 Season.

Both Scoon and Anderson are a product of the youth set up in Fife having started with Kirkcaldy Junior Ice Hockey Club before training up with the Flyers and now playing on the Flyers roster.

22 year old Scoon has been with the club since 2010/11 and had the following to say on re-signing for the club “I’m really looking forward to picking up where we left off last season and building on the great run of form we displayed towards the end of last season.”

“If we can show the same level of consistency we displayed at the end of the season, throughout this season then we will be right up there challenging for trophies on all fronts.”

Associate Coach Danny Stewart had the following to say “Scoony has had to fight for a spot every game but he has been 100 percent patient and has a great attitude. Scoony works hard every day and is constantly working to improve his game. He will add depth to our line-up and hopefully push the other guys on to keep their spots.”

Head Coach Todd Dutiaume added “Josh is a local guy who worked his way up the ranks to earn a full time position with us. We thought that we were going to lose his services this season due to employment circumstances but he has found a job locally and will be in a Flyers jersey again this season.”

“He is determined to compete for more ice time and is working hard this off season to do just that.”

Allan Anderson joined the Flyers roster last season, having played the previous two seasons with the Kirkcaldy Kestrels (SNL).

On re-signing for the Flyers Anderson had the following to say “I'm delighted to have been asked back for another season and hopefully I can build on where I left off from last year, before I got injured.”

“It's looking like it will be a promising season ahead with the guys we have back so hopefully we get off to a Flyer! I can't wait to get started back on the ice and get the season underway. I’m really looking forward to playing In front of the home crowd and getting the season started.”

Associate Coach Danny Stewart had the following to say “Last season Beany (Anderson) got his feet wet at the elite level and handled himself very professionally. He came in with a great attitude and although lacked the ice time, he was a great teammate in the room and gained lots of experience. Once again he will have to fight his way into the line-up but I'm positive he will come in ready to compete and add some depth to our line-up.”

Head Coach Todd Dutiaume added “Beany came in last year with a desire to break into our line up, we really liked the progress he was making, but unfortunately he suffered an injury which cut short his season. We are hoping that this is a season where we see him become a more regular feature in our line-up.”
