Stewart returns as associate coachFife Flyers are delighted to confirm that Danny Stewart will not only be back in a Flyers jersey on the ice next season wearing #39, but will also be reassuming his role as Associate Coach alongside Head Coach Todd Dutiaume.

The 5’9forward/defenceman from Fort McMurray, Alberta joined the Flyers for their inaugural season in the EIHL in 2011/12. Since then he has become a firm fan favourite and watched the team and organization grow from strength to strength. Stewart finished the 2013/14 season having played in 60 games for the Flyers, with 15 goals and 24 assists for 39pts and 96 PIMs.

Danny had the following to say on re-signing for the Flyers for a 4th season “I am very pleased to be back for a 4th season in Fife. I have enjoyed my time here. It’s great to be part of this organization. I enjoy working with the management team, fans and players, and they have all played a large part in why I am returning for another season.”

“Last seasons run from late January until the playoffs and the Playoff finals weekend itself, were all huge events in my career here in Fife and in my playing career in general, it was just an awesome run,  and I am excited to build on it.”

“If we can retain a core of guys from this past season and improve in certain areas I truly believe we will have a very exciting season and challenge for silverware at some point. It would be great to be consistent all year and see the barn full every game. The last few games were just awesome, such a great atmosphere. The fans in Fife are unreal, they create such an intense atmosphere and playing in front of a packed barn is amazing, hopefully we can get more crowds like that this season, I know the players loved playing in front of the capacity crowds.

“For myself and Dutes the hard work begins now as we build a team that we hope will give their all every night and challenge for silverware. We have steadily progressed year on year since joining the EIHL and next season will be no different.”
