Fife Flyers game preview

This Sunday sees the Fife Flyers, sponsored by Arnold Clark Mercedes-Benz, welcome the defending Elite Ice Hockey League champions, the Belfast Giants to Fife Ice Arena for the first time for this season as they go head to head in Challenge Cup action.

Flyers will play Adam Keefe's side for the 2nd time in 24 hours having made the journey over the Irish Sea for the clubs away challenge cup tie in Belfast.

Last weekend Todd Dutiaume's side split the weekend with a comfortable 6-3 home win over the Coventry Blaze, before going down 4-2 at the Guildford Flames.

Speaking ahead of this weekend's games head coach Todd Dutiaume said "The boys look good and we feel good about the upcoming weekend. We know we are going to have to tie up a few loose ends and upgrade our pace level.

"Belfast are doing well in the Champions Hockey League and they are an incredibly deep and well drilled team, so we are going to have to be at our best this weekend.

"The video we have seen on Belfast in the CHL and the domestic campaign, show they have the making of an impressive team that looks like it is going to be challenging for the top of the table. It is a great challenge for us and a great benchmark for us as a group.

"Travelling on Saturday on these longer trips can have it's setback, as it means we are the team travelling twice, we also get back in the early hours of Sunday morning. Those are challenges most team will face, but we are not going to use this as an excuse, it is an obstacle we'll just have to overcome."

Grab your McDonald's chuck-a-puck from sellers on game night to be in with a chance of winning £250, or McDonald's vouchers on both Saturday and Sunday.

Pucks are available for just £1 and the competition takes place between periods 2 and 3!
