Elite Ice Hockey League

The format for the 2019/20 Elite Ice Hockey League Challenge Cup has been confirmed. This seasons Challenge Cup will see the league's 10 teams compete across 3 groups, with Fife competing against Belfast Giants, Dundee Stars and Glasgow Clan, with the top 3 teams qualifying for the knockout stages.

The 3 groups will consist of:

Group A (top 3 automatic qualification for knockout stages)

  • Belfast Giants

  • Fife Flyers
  • Glasgow Clan

Group B (top 2 automatic qualification for knockout stages)

  • Cardiff Devils
  • Coventry Blaze
  • Guildford Flames

Group C (top 2 automatic qualification for knockout stages)

  • Manchester Storm
  • Nottingham Panthers
  • Sheffield Steelers

Groups B & C - 3rd vs 3rd placed > 'play-in'. Team with the best record to have home ice option, game scheduled to be played Wednesday 20th November (Week 13).

Elite Ice Hockey League

The Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) is a professional ice hockey league in the United Kingdom formed in 2003. The league currently consists of 10 teams, with Belfast (NIR), Cardiff (WAL), Coventry (ENG), Dundee (SCO), Fife (SCO), Glasgow (SCO), Guildford (ENG), Manchester (ENG), Nottingham (ENG) and Sheffield (ENG).
