Evan Bloodoff celebrates vs Sheffield Steelers

This Wednesday Todd Dutiaume's side travel south to take on the Sheffield Steelers for the 3rd time this season, as they face newly appointed head coach Tom Barrasso's side at the Sheffield FlyDSA Arena.

Flyers go in to the game on a run of 6 league wins in a row, whilst Sheffield are currently winless in their last 4 league games.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday's game head coach Todd Dutiaume was wary of the current form of Wednesday night's opponnents. "We are well aware that Sheffield will not stay in the position they find themselves in for very long.

"Our approach for Wednesday's game will be exactly as we've done in the past 7 weeks with this group. I expect we will find ourselves facing a hungry team tomorrow and need to match their intensity.

"With our early inconsistencies in the Challenge Cup competition I feel we learned a valuable lesson. By urging the players to bring a high level of compete on a regular basis and having them take pride in every performance we hope that a culture of winning follows."

Earlier today Flyers' forward Paul Crowder was named the Elite Ice Hockey League player of the week after a weekend that saw him help the Flyers to back to back wins over Guildford Flames, whilst scoring 4 goals and 1 assist.

Dutiaume also said that there is more to Paul's game than his current point production "Paul fits our recruitment policy to a tee.

"His game clearly speaks for itself but more importantly he is simply a good person and someone you want to be around. His impact on this team will be much bigger than point production."

Flyers return to home ice action this Saturday when they welcome the Nottingham Panthers to Fife Ice Arena for the first time this season.
