Flyers in the community with Kettle Produce Ltd

Fife Flyers are delighted to welcome back Kettle Produce Ltd as partners of our Flyers in the Community Project for a third successive year.

As one of Fife’s largest private employers and a vegetable supplier to the major UK supermarkets, Kettle Produce Ltd is thrilled to continue to support promoting a healthy lifestyle throughout the Fife community

Last year, players of Fife Flyers and staff from Kettle Produce conducted over 26 visits to local schools and community groups throughout the Kingdom. Visits included talks from Kettle Produce staff on how vegetables are sourced, packed and distributed to supermarkets across the UK linking to healthy eating and lifestyle choices. Players discussed the benefits of exercise through participation in sport focussing on the physical requirements of ice hockey. This was also relevant to the schools who were running projects on the Winter Olympics in Pyeong Chang. The visits saw players and staff interact with local children and even participate in a friendly “scrummage” (fun game)

Kettle Produce’s Finance Director, Liz Waugh, said “We are delighted to continue partnering with Fife Flyers in this fantastic initiative. We feel it is important for children to be made aware of the value of the inclusion of vegetables in their daily diet and the benefit of regular exercise. Our team are thrilled to continue the strong community involvement with Fife Flyers from previous years."

Carol Johnstone, Commercial Manager of Fife Flyers added, “It’s just fantastic to be working with Kettle Produce Ltd again, their support and sponsorship allows us to continue to build on such a successful community programme. It is very important to us to be out and about promoting not only healthy eating to our young audience, but also to highlight good lifestyle choices with an educational focus. “

Fife Flyers have re-opened the Community Project diary for 2018/2019 season. If you are involved in a local primary school or community organisation and would like to have a visit, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
