Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club are delighted to announce the signing of Charles-Antoine Paiement
25 year old Charles-Antoine is a native of Quebec having been born in Saint-Jerome. As an 18 year old he played the 2017/18 season with the Collège Lionel-Groulx Nordiqueswhere he finished second in scoring. He then played the next two seasons in the Quebec Junior Hockey League for his hometown St Jérome Panthers where he recorded 111 points in 96 games. He joined Concordia University during the pandemic which restricted his playing time with the Stingers. Over his four years in the USports league he played 54 games returning 19 goals and 14 assists for 33 points where he also played alongside Phélix Martineau. He completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree and turned professional in January 2024 with the Trois-Rivières Lions in the ECHL. In his rookie season with the Lions he played 30 games scoring four goals and adding four assists in regular season play before making one appearance in the Kelly Cup Playoffs in Game 6 of the opening round vs Norfolk Admirals. He remained with the Lions to start this season making 23 appearances and recording four assists.
On the signing of Paiement, Interim Head Coach, Johnny Curran commented, ‘Charles is a fast, competitive and skilled winger. We’re extremely happy to be bringing in a player of his caliber this time of the year. We’re looking forward to him joining us for the back half of the season.’
Paiement arrives in Kirkcaldy today and is ready and eager to hit the ice with his new teammates as soon as the final paperwork clears.
