Weekend Recap – Week 14

On Saturday night……

Manchester Storm 4  Fife Flyers 2    –  Elite League   

The Flyers have now lost on 5 consecutive visits to the Manchester Storm, their longest winless run in Altrincham in the EIHL era.

Manchester had 6 shots on Flyers net in the second period, they fewest given up by Flyers in a period this season

The 28 Storm shots on Flyers net is also the lowest number the Flyers have given up this season in a game.

The Flyers gave up their 7th empty net goal of the season. This was also the 100th empty net goal they have given up in all EIHL competitions. Storm have seven of those.

The Flyers scored a power play goal for the 4th consecutive game which is a season high.

There were 79 face offs in the game which is the most in a game this season. The Flyers were a minus 25 at the dot which is their worst in a game this season.

Phélix Martineau has scored in each of the meetings with Storm this season.

 

On Sunday night……

Fife Flyers 0   Guildford Flames 4      – Elite League  

The Guildford Flames recorded their first shutout against the Flyers in Kirkcaldy in the EIHL era. It was the Flames 3rd shutout in all EIHL competitions. They have one previous shutout on Flyers ice in November 2004 in the BNL.

It was the 4th time this season that the Flyers have been blanked which leads all teams.

Guildford are perfect on their penalty kill against the Flyers this season having killed all 10 Flyers power plays.

The Flames are the only team the Flyers have yet to score a goal against with the man advantage

Flyers are now 0 and 17 when behind after two periods of play this season, this is also the same stat when the Flyers lose the second period

Lucas Chiodo and Drake Pilon had their active team best three game points streaks ended.
