Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club are delighted to confirm the appointment of American Tim Wallace as the club’s new Head Coach and General Manager ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Wallace arrives in Fife with a wealth of knowledge from across the professional game, both as a player and coach, bringing with him an extensive resume spanning North America and Europe.
Across his playing career, Wallace gained extensive experience in some of the top leagues in North America and Europe, including spells in the NHL, AHL, ECHL, DEL and SHL. Most notably, he iced with the Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Islanders, Tampa Bay Lightning and Carolina Hurricanes in the National Hockey League, while also spending several seasons in the American Hockey League with organisations including the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
His European experience included time in Sweden’s SHL and Germany’s DEL before moving to the Elite Ice Hockey League, where he became a familiar face to British fans across spells with the Sheffield Steelers and Milton Keynes Lightning, recording 115 EIHL appearances.
Wallace made the transition into coaching during the 2018-19 season in a player/coach role with Milton Keynes, before stepping into a Head Coach position with the Nottingham Panthers, leading the club across three seasons in the Elite League and helping the club to silverware during the Elite Series.
Most recently, Wallace led the Milton Keynes Lightning in the NIHL as Head Coach. During his time with the club, he helped guide the team to NIHL Cup silverware during the 2023/24 season, and to a Playoff Championship in 2025 in a player/coach role.
Commenting on his appointment, Wallace said: “I’m really excited and grateful for the opportunity to join the Fife Flyers. This is a club with a proud history, a passionate fanbase, and huge potential. I’m here for what we can build. That’s the only reason that mattered to me, and I can’t wait to get to work.”
“From my conversations with the club, it’s clear there’s a real hunger to move things forward and build something the supporters can be proud of. That starts with hard work, honesty, and the right culture every day. And the standard for all of it starts with the coach. That’s a responsibility I take on, and the kind of group I want to be part of.”
“I am pumped to meet the players, staff and fans and do everything I can to help push this club in the right direction. I know what this club means to people. We’re only moving forward from here. See you at the rink.”
Tim’s arrival marks a deliberate reset in how this club operates, who it hires, and what it expects. The direction is clear. We are rebuilding the Flyers around a British core, supplemented by experienced EIHL professionals who choose Fife because they want to play for this club and this community, not for any other reason. That standard applies to every signing we make from this point forward.
Last season tested the patience of our supporters, our staff, and our partners. We do not pretend otherwise. The club has new leadership in place, new operational discipline, and a clear commitment to earning back trust through actions, results, and accountability to the people of Fife who have stood by this jersey for decades.
We look forward to sharing more news with our fans soon!
