Former NHLer Milan Lucic joins the Kingdom.
The Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club are delighted to announce the signing of former NHL forward Milan Lucic.
With 1,177 regular-season NHL games to his name, Lucic arrives in the Kingdom with a wealth of experience. Drafted in the 2nd round of the 2006 NHL Draft by the Boston Bruins, he would go on to lift the Stanley Cup with the team in 2011.
Milan also iced for the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers and the Calgary Flames during his 17 seasons in the world’s top hockey league.
During this time he recorded 233 goals, 353 assists, and a total of 586 points. Lucic helped his teams reach the playoffs on 11 occasions, most notably in 2011 where he scored five goals and 12 points in 25 playoff games to help the Bruins secure their first Stanley Cup since 1972. That same season, Lucic achieved a career-high 62 points in 79 games, leading the team in both goals (30) and points.
A familiar face on arrival will be captain Garet Hunt, a former teammate to Milan during their junior careers in the WHL with the Vancouver Giants. Notably, the pair helped the club become 2007 Memorial Cup Champions, with Lucic being named tournament MVP.
Milan icing for the Flyers is pending paperwork completion.
Milan will wear #8 this season in the Kingdom. Own & Loan packages are available by contacting commercial@fifeflyers.co.uk.
