Russell’s Round Up

Last weekend saw us pick up our first league point and I felt we played a great game against Sheffield. We had terrific puck management, we were physical and were hard to play against. It was a gutsy effort for our third game in three days.

Looking ahead to this weekend, we face off against Nottingham, at home on Saturday, before we make our first trip to Coventry on Sunday.

Our game analytics show that we tend to overpass and are not getting enough pucks on net, so increasing our shot count remains a priority.

Scoring is not something that can be easily taught, but we have placed a greater emphasis on shooting more. This has been a focus of ours this week in practice.

This weekend we will be missing Mason Alderson as he competes in the European Cup of Nations with Team GB. Following the opening game I spoke to Mason and we discussed how he played in his first international game and his approach moving forward.

Mason has had a great start to the season and I am so pleased to see him rewarded with this opportunity with the GB squad.
