Introducing the opposition & One to Watch!
An addition to the Clan roster mid-season but no stranger to the Elite League was that of Daniel Tedesco. He joined after opening the season with the Bloomington Bison in the ECHL. The 32-year-old forward was in the EIHL last season with his second stint with the Guildford Flames. It was the Surrey side that he joined for his first Elite League season in notching up 36 goals and 55 assists in 67 games, good for 91 points in all competitions that term. He was also named in the EIHL’s first All-Star team in the end-of-season, league-wide awards. Throughout the 2022/23 season, the Flames contended end-to-end with the Belfast Giants for the top spot in a fierce League title race. That caught the eye of the Giants who signed Tedesco for the following season where he top scored for the men in teal with 24+30 in 63 games. He returned to Guildford last season to be part of a balanced scoring group for the Flames where he almost matched his season in Belfast with 15+38 in 63 games. He has been a constant in the Italian National side over the last five years and was in consideration for the host nation’s Olympic roster last month. Before arriving in the UK Tedesco spent two seasons in the Alps HL with Fassa, where he led his side in points for the 2021/22 season. His prior journey was mainly in the US, featuring stints in the ECHL with sides Wichita Thunder, Idaho Steelheads and Wheeling Nailers, as well as with Pensacola Ice Flyers and Mississippi River Kings in the SPHL. He played NCAA hockey for St Cloud State University, where he lifted two Championship trophies during his college hockey campaign.

SATURDAY MARCH 28th FIFE FLYERS v COVENTRY BLAZE @ FIFE ICE ARENA – FACE OFF 7.00pm
Introducing the opposition & One to Watch!
We focus on a couple new faces on the Blaze blueline this term and start with 29-year-old Canadian defenceman Connor Russell who joined the Blaze in the summer following four seasons in the ECHL, most recently with the Jacksonville Icemen, where he played alongside fellow first year Blaze new recruit Ivan Chukarov. A steady presence on the blue line, the 6’2″ defenceman recorded 12 points (2 goals, 10 assists) and an impressive +22 plus/minus rating in 58 regular season games for the Icemen last season. Over the course of his ECHL career, Russell has amassed 189 regular season and playoff appearances, contributing 31 points (3 goals, 28 assists). Before turning professional in the 2021/22 season, the Guelph, Ontario native played three collegiate seasons with the University of Ottawa and Brock University (USports) and spent a year with the Dundas Real McCoys in the ACH. During his junior career in the BCHL, Russell tallied 64 points (13 goals, 51 assists) in 163 games with the Prince George Spruce Kings, Cowichan Valley Capitals, and Penticton Vees. A later addition to the roster around Christmas time was 24 year old Canadian defenceman Jordan Power who arrived from the Greenville Swamp Rabbits (ECHL), where he has played 13 games this season, registering one assist. Power was an important addition to the roster as the team contended with several injuries. Standing at 6’2” and shooting left, Power turned professional with the Swamp Rabbits last season after graduating from Minnesota State University-Mankato, where he became an NCAA (CCHA) Champion and helped the Mavericks to an NCAA Tournament appearance. Power began his NCAA career with Clarkson University in the 2020/21 season before transferring to Minnesota State for his final two years. During his collegiate career, he was named an alternate captain at both programs and recorded 43 points (10 goals, 33 assists) in 163 appearances. Prior to college, Power captained the Lincoln Stars in the USHL, amassing 51 points (7 goals, 44 assists) in 101 games, and earning 2020 USHL Third All-Star Team honours.
