The Kingdom Weekend Recap – Week 26

On Saturday night……

Guildford Flames 3                    Fife Flyers 4                                        –   Elite League   

The Flyers ended their 5 game losing streak at the Guildford Spectrum.

It was the first back to back wins for the Flyers against the Flames since March 2024.

First time this season when losing the 2nd period on the road that the Flyers have gone on to win the game.

This was the Flyers first win in regulation outside of Scotland since 18th January when they beat the Manchester Storm.

Ben Brown scored his first point of the season.

The Flyers conceded their first powerplay goal in the last 5 games.

Until this season Guildford didn’t have a hattrick scorer against the Flyers and Matthieu Gosselin became the 3rd Flames player this term to score a treble in the fixture.

Justin Ducharme had his first game winning goal of the season and became the 10 different Flyers player to do so.

Keaton Jameson became the 5th Flyers player to register a 100 plus shots on goal this season.

Logan Neilson has scored in each of the Flyers last three visits to the Spectrum.

Guildford extended their season high penalty kill streak to 7 games without conceding against the man advantage.

The Flyers completed their league series against the Flames with a 2-4-0 record.

On Sunday night……

Fife Flyers 1      Sheffield Steelers 7                             –   Elite League    

The Flyers completed their league series against the Steelers with a 1-4-1 record which is their best return in the match up since the 2018/19 season.

The Flyers are now 1 for 3 on penalty shots this season and 9 for 21 all time in all EIHL competitions.

Against the Steelers the Flyers are now 1 for 2 on penalty shots all time in the EIHL.

Josh Winquist is the active leader on the team with a 2.87 shots on goal per game average.

Keaton Jameson has the active team leading shooting percentage at 14.2.
