The Kingdom Weekend Recap – Week 25

On Saturday night……

Cardiff Devils 5                    Fife Flyers 0                                        –   Elite League   

The Devils extended their winning streak on home ice against the Flyers to 6 games.

The Flyers season record against the Devils was 1-5-0 with 10 goals scored and 28 conceded.

It was the second time the Flyers had been shutout this season by the Devils.

Overall in all EIHL competitions it was the 13th time that the Devils had blanked the Flyers which is second most of all teams.

It was the 8th time in all competitions this season that the Flyers were held goalless with 6 of those games being on the road.

Michael Courts became the 33rd different coach in Flyers history and the 5th in the EIHL era.

Josh Winquist had 28:32 time on ice which is a season high for a Flyers forward in a game this season.

The Flyers were perfect on the penalty kill for a third consecutive game which tied a season high.

The game closed out the month of February so a look back at the Flyers overall record during that month in all EIHL competitions:

On Sunday night……

Fife Flyers 0      Belfast Giants 3                            –   Elite League    

The Flyers season record against the Giants was 1-5-0 with 10 goals scored and 27 conceded.

Scott Conway scored his 29th goal in all EIHL competitions against the Flyers which now puts him 3 goals behind Robert Dowd who is the leading marksman against the Flyers in the EIHL era.

The Flyers were shutout in back to back games for the 2nd time this season and 7th time in the EIHL era.

The Giants have recorded the most shutouts against the Flyers in all EIHL competitions with this being their 17th and their 4th time this season.

The Flyers have now been blanked 9 times this season which is second most to the 12 times they were shutout out in the 2022/23 season.

The Flyers made it 4 consecutive games where they were 100 percent on the penalty kill which is a season high.

It was the 4th consecutive game for the Giants without a powerplay goal which is a season high for them.
