Another couple of addition during the season for the Clan have been 26-year-old Canadian forward Brady Risk and netminder Liam Soulière who is also the same age. Risk arrived a few weeks ahead of Christmas and has brought an exciting blend of offensive skill, vision, and goal-scoring ability to the Glasgow Clan. He enjoyed an impressive NCAA career, representing the University of Alaska Fairbanks Nanooks and the University of Nebraska at Omaha Mavericks, before embarking last summer on his first professional contract with IF Troja-Ljungby in Sweden’s HockeyAllsvenskan. Soulière arrived in Glasgow in mid-January as injury cover for Sami Aittokallio following the conclusion of his NCAA career, where he iced for the University of Minnesota, one of college hockey’s most prestigious programmes. In his final NCAA campaign, the Canadian posted an impressive .917 save percentage, recording a 13-8-2 record against elite collegiate competition. This season in his fifth year of NCAA eligibility for the Minnesota Gophers, which said a lot about his pedigree that a powerhouse school trusted his abilities he found himself behind two NHL-contracted goaltenders which made him a bit of the odd man out. Soulière also gained professional experience in the ECHL with the Toledo Walleye, where he compiled a 3-1-0 record with a .900 save percentage indicating his readiness to step into a professional environment.
