Dundee Stars 3 Fife Flyers 6 – Elite League
Congratulations to David Booth on his hattrick which was the first by a Flyer since Michael Cichy v Guildford 19th October 2024
It was the Flyers 18th hattrick on the road in all EIHL competitions and 38th in total in the EIHL era.
Flyers now have 8 hattricks all time in the EIHL against Dundee Stars of which 6 have been at Dundee Ice Arena.
It was the first time in 9 games that the Flyers were never behind in a match.
David Booth and Anton Karlsson both had their first multi goal games for the Flyers and they join Josh Winquist (twice) Johan Porsberger (twice) Ian Scheid and Keaton Jameson so far this season.
The Flyers 20 shots on Stars goal in first period was their highest total for 20 minutes this season.
Flyers 45 shots total is their highest in a game this season so far and a combined total of 90 in the game is most since the same number in the game v Giants 29th March 2025 (23-67).
Johan Porsberger had a Flyers season high 4 assists and the most in a game since Kyle Osterberg on 1st October 2023 also had 4 helpers.
On Wednesday night……
Fife Flyers 4 Dundee Stars 5 Shootout – Elite League
The Flyers now have points in their last 6 games against the Stars which is their best return against the Tayside club since 2014.
Flyers are 4 and 8 against the Dundee Stars in the shootout in all EIHL competitions with the Stars having won the last 3.
Drydn Dow has the last two shootout winners against the Flyers.
It was the first time that the Flyers had met the Stars on Hogmanay.
Flyers have now lost their last 2 games before the bells in the EIHL – and in 3 games at home on that date they are now 1 and 2 and have been outscored 13-16.
Flyers overall Hogmanay record now reads as: P13 W 7 L 6 F 42 A 49 with 7 of those games against the Edinburgh Capitals.
Congratulations to Milan Lucic on his first ever goal as a Flyer.
Ian Scheid became the 2nd Flyers player to register 100 plus shots on goal this term.

Sheffield Steelers 4 Fife Flyers 1 – Elite League
The Flyers winless streak on the road against the Steelers has now reached 21 games.
It extends the longest winless road streak against any EIHL team with 17 games without a win in Belfast which was ended in January 2024 being the next longest.
The Steelers conceded a powerplay goal on home ice for only the 3rd time this season which is fewest of all teams.
The game marked the halfway stage of the league campaign for the Flyers and their goals scored total is equal lowest for all seasons in the EIHL era.

On Sunday night……
Fife Flyers 4 Manchester Storm 5 Shootout – Elite League
The Flyers scored 4 goals in the 3rd period which is the most for them in any 20 minutes this term.
It was the 5th consecutive game with a Flyers powerplay goal which ties a season high.
The Flyers have now conceded 1400 goals at home in all EIHL competitions.
Giordano Finoro scored the Flyers 56th empty net goal in all EIHL competitions.
It was the 3rd ENG that the Flyers have scored against the Storm in all EIHL competitions.
It is only the second time that the Flyers have scored an ENG and then gone on to lose the game with the previous being in January 2018 when the lost 7-6 in a shootout to the Dundee Stars.
The Flyers are now 3 and 5 against the Storm in a shootout and are now 35-33 all time in the EIHL in shootouts.
The Flyers last 7 shootouts have all come on home ice where they are 3 and 4.
It was the 4th time that the Flyers have conceded a goal timed at 59:59 in all EIHL competitions with the outcomes now reading:
