Belfast Giants 9 Fife Flyers 0 – Elite League
The Giants shutout the Flyers for the 3rd time this season and 16th all-time in all EIHL competitions which is the most of all teams.
It was the Giants biggest ever margin of victory against the Flyers in all EIHL competitions.
It was also the second time the Giants have had 9 different scorers in a game against the Flyers which is the most in the EIHL era with Sheffield Steelers also having that number in one game against the Flyers.
Milan Lucic and David Booth became the 15th and 16th players who have played in the NHL to ice for the Flyers all-tine.
Lucic with a total of 1313 regular season and playoff games has most NHL appearances for a Flyers player replacing Laurie Boschman who played 1066 games.
The pair became the 26th and 27th players to make their debuts for the Flyers this term.
233 players have now iced for the Flyers in the EIHL era.
It was the first time that the Flyers had met the Giants on Boxing Day.
Flyers have now lost their last 6 games on the day after Christmas in the EIHL – and in 5 games on the road on that date they remain winless and have been outscored 9-26.
Flyers overall Boxing Day record now reads as: P11 W 4 L 7 F 40 A 38
Congratulations to Shane Owen on his 373rd appearance which means he is now 4th overall in appearances for the Flyers in all EIHL competitions.

Fife Flyers 4 Belfast Giants 3 Shootout – Elite League
The Flyers ended a run of 9 straight defeats in league play against the Giants.
It was the first time in 21 games this season where the Flyers have lost the 2nd period that they have gone on to win a game.
Congratulations to David Booth on his first goal for the Flyers and also to Milan Lucic on his first point.
Flyers are now 4 and 3 against the Giants in shootouts in all EIHL competitions and have won their last 3 including two wins this season with Christian Purboo recording both of his wins on the seasons so far.
Overall the Flyers are 35 and 31 in the skills competition in the EIHL era.
Josh Winquist became the first Flyer to record 100 plus shots on goal for the season.
Keaton Jameson has the team leading shooting percentage with a 14.5 percent conversion rate.
