The Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club are delighted to announce that Head Coach Jamie Russell has named his captain for the forthcoming Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) campaign.
Canadian forward Garet Hunt becomes the Kingdom’s 11th leader of the EIHL era and takes over the ‘C’ from Olivier LeBlanc.
On naming Garet as his captain, Head Coach Jamie Russell said:
“From our first conversation about Garet playing in Fife, it was crystal clear to me that Garet was the guy that would set our standard, culture and identity. He is a consumate pro that oozes leadership.
“Every day he brings a work ethic and intensity that is contagious. I’ve worked with some amazing leaders in my time and Garet is among the very best.”
On his captaincy Garet commented: “I’m honoured to be given the responsibility to be captain of this group of guys.
“I’ll try to do everything to lead the group in the best way I can. It means a lot to me, and I’m excited for the opportunity.”
Head Coach Jamie Russell has yet to decide on his assistants and an announcement on these will follow in due course.
