The Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club are delighted to announce the signing of experienced Swedish forward Johan Porsberger for the 2025/26 season. 

Johan comes to The Kingdom following a championship winning season with Dresdner Eislöwen in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga 2 (DEL2) where he helped the club earn promotion to the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL).

The 2024/25 season was Johan’s 4th season icing with Dresdner Eislöwen. During his time with the club, Johan iced in 215 games across all competitions in the DEL2 registering 170 points (78 goals + 92 assists).

Prior to signing in Germany, Johan spent the  2020/2021 season with Graz99ers of the Austrian top tier, ICE Hockey League (ICEHL). Icing in 48 games he returned 27 points (9 goals + 18 assists).

Before the 2020/21 season, Johan iced exclusively in his native Sweden. Icing at all levels, Johan has 62 Swedish Hockey League games (SHL) and 361 HockeyAllsvenskan games under his belt. 

On signing Johan Flyers President and GM Max Birbraer said: “As we started our recruitment, our strategy was to build from the back.
“Now that we are approaching the finishing line of what was a hectic search for players, our forward line is starting to take shape.
“We’re pleased to welcome Johan to our line up.
“He’s an experienced player who will link up and contribute offensively.”

On signing Johan Head Coach Jamie Russell added: “Johan is a skilled forward that plays with great hockey sense.
“He excels on special teams play and has the versatility to play wing or centre.
“He is a big add to our top six.”

Johan is the 20th player to join us in the Kingdom for the 2025/26 season and will wear #10.
