The Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club are excited to announce the return of Romanian side CSM Corona Brașov to The Kingdom for 2 pre-season games ahead of the 2025/26 season.
As preparations continue for the new season ahead, your new look Fife Flyers will hit the ice firstly on Thursday 28th August at 7:30pm followed by a second clash against the Romanian side on Saturday 30th August at 7:00pm.
No stranger to ice hockey fans in The Kingdom, CSM Corona Brașov was formed in 2007. Playing in both the Erste Liga and Romanian National League the team have proved successful not only on the domestic front with 6 Romanian National League titles , 4 Romanian Cup wins and 1 Erste Liga title. The team has also competed in the wider IIHF Continental Cup on numerous occasions.
A stopping point for a few faces familiar to Flyers fans including firm favourite Carlo Finucci and new Flyer Garet Hunt through the years. CSM Corona Brașov is probably most remembered for their visit during the 2023/24 pre-season, which saw the return of Flyers fan favourite Chase Schaber to the Auld Barn. An exciting match ensued with the visitors holding firm to eventually come out on top in a season that saw Brasov go on to complete a sweep on home soil winning the Romanian National League, Romanian Cup and the Erste Liga.
