Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club are excited to announce the signing of forward Didrik Nøkleby Svendsen for the 2025/26 season.
Known for his physical and no nonsense style of play, Didrik has spent his hockey career to date in his native Norway.
Working his way through the junior ranks of his hometown team Sparta Sarpsborg, Didrik went on to represent them in the top tier of Norwegian hockey, the EliteHockey Ligaen (EHL).
An experienced forward, Didrik has 447 EHL games under his belt which also includes a short stint with Manglerud and most recently Vålerenga where Didrik has played since the 2022/23 season.
A firm fan favourite wherever he plays, Didrik is sure to make his mark on the Kingdom. 

On signing Didrik, Flyers President and GM Max Birbraer said: “When we agreed our vision for our new roster, we said that this team will be tough and will entertain.
“Didrik is exactly the type of player who will do this for us.
“Not only does he have toughness and physical ability, Didrik skates well and has a big shot in his repertoire.
“He’s a player who feeds from spectator energy and I am absolutely certain he will be one of our fan favorites.”

Fife Flyers Head Coach Jamie Russell added: “Didrik is an extremely large man that moves surprisingly well for a big guy.
“He will be heavy on the forecheck and he can absolutely rip the puck”.
On signing in the Kingdom Didrik said: “I’m looking forward to moving over to Scotland and Fife Flyers.
“I think with the new start we’re going to do great things this year.
“With your support in our home it’s going to be difficult to beat us in our rink!!”

As the squad takes shape, Didrik is the 12th player to join us for the 2025/26 season and will wear #95.
