Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club are delighted to announce the signing of Canadian forward Garet Hunt for the 2025/26 season. 

Known for his physical style of play, Garet joins Flyers after a year playing for DVTK Jegesmedvék in the Erste Liga, Hungary. 

A former Presidents and Memorial Cup Champion, Garet brings with him a wealth of experience spread across the American Hockey League (AHL), Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) , East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) and Erste Liga (Romania and Hungary). 

During his time in the ECHL Garet proved himself to be a leader on the ice wearing an ‘A’ then the ‘C’ across 8 of his seasons stateside. During this time he cemented himself as a firm fan favourite with his contributions on the ice which saw his number retired by the Stockton Thunder. 

A team mate of a few former Flyers, Garet iced up along side Flyers favourite Chase Schaber during the 2021/22 season whilst icing with the CSM Corona Brasov. It was a season that saw Garet record 52 points (21 goals + 31 assists) across 47 games in all competitions.

On signing Garet, Coach Russell said: “I am ecstatic we have signed Garet! He epitomizes what we are building in Fife. 

“He plays hard, oozes leadership and makes every night a long night for the opposition. This is a huge step towards creating our culture and identity. ”

Flyers President and GM Max Birbraer added “If there is one signing this summer we’ve been waiting for, this is it! 

“Garet is a fan favorite everywhere he plays and will make his presence known. We want to be the rink where opposing teams hate coming to and Garet will provide this for us.”

Garet is the 8th member of our new look squad and will wear #74 for the upcoming season.
