Weekend Recap – Week 31

On Saturday night……

Fife Flyers 5        Manchester Storm 4      Overtime            –  Elite League   

The Flyers snapped their losing run at 12 games.

It was the Flyers 3rd win over the Manchester Storm this season the best record they had against all opponents

The win ensured that the Flyers would better the London Racers all time lowest total in the EIHL when they finished on 10 points in the 2003/04 season.

Massimo Carozza with three points equalled a team high points in a game this season.

The Flyers are now 34 and 36 in overtime games in all EIHL competitions and 4 and 2 against the Manchester Storm.

Jordy Stallard scored the Flyers 3rd short handed goal of the season and the 70th all time in all EIHL competitions. It was the Flyers 7th shorthanded tally against the Storm.

The Flyers were behind for the second shortest period of a game this season.

 

On Sunday night……

Dundee Stars 6            Fife Flyers 1          –  Elite League   

The Stars stretched their longest winning run against the Flyers in the EIHL era to 8 games

For the first time in their EIHL era the Flyers were swept by the Stars.

The Flyers conceded powerplay goals for the 9th consecutive game, their longest of the season.

Ever presents for Flyers in league play were Michael Cichy, Tyler Heidt and Daniel Krenzelok

The Flyers conceded a leading 10th shorthanded goal on the season and it was a 2nd  for Brendan Harms against the Flyers this term.

Congratulations to Cameron Kenny who made his professional debut – he was the 29th player to debut for the Flyers this season and the 35th overall to play minutes this EIHL campaign – both of which are season highs in all time Flyers history.
