The Flyers final home game of the season as the welcomed the Manchester Storm who were looking to move into the final playoff spot with a third win on the bounce, something they had not achieved this season, in what was their final league game. The visitors scratched Tyler Rockwell, Evan Weninger and Harrison Caines. The Flyers were still without Shane Owen, Olivier LeBlanc and Aiden Wilson and also scratched Ben Brown and Cameron Kenny. Joe Lynch, James Spence and Andy Little were added to the lineup.

The Flyers had the first shot of the match in the opening minute as Daniel Krenželok tested David Tendeck’s glove. Jānis Voris was in the game in the 3rd minute when he made a fine pad save on a spinorama effort from Loren Ulett. A minute later and the Flyers were on the first power play of the game as CJ Garcia was binned for tripping Phélix Martineau. The visitors however almost scored short handed with two chances falling to Stephen Johnson who forced a save on his first effort from Voris and then failed to control the puck in a wide open position in front of the Fife net. The Flyers managed to complete the kill after Voris made another fine reaction save from a Cam Critchlow effort at the edge of his crease. Johnson had another chance to open the scoring when he snuck in behind the Flyers defence in the 7th minute but Voris shut the five hole on him to keep him out. Massimo Carozza snapped a shot from the circles on goal in the 8th minute that Tendeck gloved then a minute later Lucas Chiodo was also denied by the right handed catching keeper as Tendeck once again flashed the leather. A quick up pass by Brodie Kay in the 10th minute sprang Charles-Antoine Paiement through centre ice and 1 on 1 with Tendeck the visiting goalie made a huge stick save. Tyler Hinam in the 11th minute was stopped by Voris but the visitors took the lead in the 14th minute when Craig Martin from behind the goal line found Alexis D’Aoust who fired the puck from the bottom of the circles top shelf on Voris. The Flyers survived a scramble around their net in the 16th minute when Voris stopped Gianluca Esteves and Critchlow with a snow angel on the goal line. The Flyers were level moments later when Carozza fed the puck to Martineau who went in on goal and slipped the puck between the legs of Tendeck. Another sprawling save in the 18th minute from Voris kept Johnson out on the goal line. The Flyers ended the period on the power play as Ryan Hughes was called for tripping. Hinam had an early shorthanded bid stopped by Voris but the Flyers came up with a buzzer beater as Austine Farley was positioned at the side of the net to pick up a loose puck and fire high into the net as the clock expired. The play was reviewed and the goal given with just one second remaining.

Into the second period and the Flyers made the perfect start when  they doubled their lead in the opening minute when Chiodo set up Michael Cichy in the slot to beat Tendeck. 14 seconds later however the visitors reduced the arrears as Johnson finally managed to get the puck behind Voris with a quick release snipe. Storm went on their first man advantage of the night in the 23rd minute when Tyler Heidt got the gate for holding. The Storm created a couple of chances that both fell to Ulett the second of which was a tip that saw the puck bounce off the outside of the post before the Flyers returned to full strength. Krenželok had a shot from the high slot blockered away by Tendeck in the 26th minute and a minute later the Flyers defenceman was once again denied by the visiting goalie who came up with a shoulder save on his shot from the blueline. In the 31st minute Voris got a piece of a shot to deflect the puck onto the post and the Flyers then went the other way and Chiodo was stopped by a fine left pad save by Tendeck. The visitors went back on the power play in the 33rd minute as Voris was called for a trip. The shorthanded Flyers however fashioned a well worked team goal involving Krenželok and Carozza and finished with a beauty of a backhand shelf by Jordy Stallard. Once again however the Storm hit back with a quick fire goal and less than 30 seconds later the deficit was back to one goal as Joe Morrow found the net with a shot from the high slot that went in on the glove side of Voris. Kay was then binned for a hook but the Flyers were able to preserve their lead with a strong kill and see out the period.

Kay found himself in penalty trouble again 2 minutes into the third period for a trip. The Storm thought they had leveled the game when a shot from the point was tipped in front of Voris and into the net. The referee indicated a high stick and washed out the goal and the decision was upheld on the subsequent review as the Flyers went on to complete another kill. Storm returned to the power play in the 37th minute when Heidt was assessed a cross checking penalty following a long passage of play where the Flyers were hemmed into their own end of the ice. The visitors made their advantage pay as they tied the game with Hughes walking out from the corner and on the back hand finding space glove side to net. Voris was under pressure in the 51st minute as he made a goal line stand as the Storm hacked and whacked at a loose puck around his net before the play was eventually blown dead. Garcia was then penalised for interference and the Flyers on the powerplay had chances for Chiodo and Kieran Craig but Tendeck stood tall as the visitors returned to full strength. In the final minute of the game the Flyers caught a  break as a shot from the high slot hit a body in front of Voris and deflected off the bottom of the post.

Into overtime and Krenželok had a snapshot saved by Tendeck and Voris responded with a stop on Hinam. The Flyers got the winner three minutes in as Martineau played the puck over the Paiement who found a gap between the post and Tendeck on his glove side to send the home fans into raptures.
