WEEK 26 of the 2024/25 Elite Ice Hockey League season and the Flyers are on the road on Saturday night as they visit the Cardiff Devils for the final time this season. On Sunday night they return home as they host the Nottingham Panthers for their final visit this campaign.

The Flyers last met the Devils a fortnight ago and following their win at Kirkaldy the Welsh side played a double header last weekend on the road to the Belfast Giants. In the first game the Devils held a fourth minute lead until five minutes into the second period before going behind early in the third. The following night the Devils failed to get on the scoreboard as the Giants recorded their season leading 9th shutout and hit the Devils for six which is their biggest loss on the season so far. On Wednesday night the Devils entertained the Sheffield Steelers and continued their dominant form this season over the Yorkshire side at home as they won for the fifth time this term with a 6-2 score line. Before hosting the Flyers the Devils are due to play the Clan at Braehead on Friday night.

Following their last meeting with the Flyers in mid-January the Panthers followed up that with a 7-4 win on home ice against the Guildford Flames before completing a four point weekend with a shutout in Manchester as they beat the Storm 4-0. The following weekend saw just the one game but the Panthers kept things rolling with a 3-2 win at the Vindico Arena against the home town Devils. The Panthers then travelled to Tayside to squeak past the Stars in a low scoring three goal game. The following night at the Motorpoint Arena the visiting Clan snapped the Panthers winning run at 7 games as they edged the two points in a shootout decision. The following midweek the Panthers met the Giants in Belfast in the first leg of their Challenge Cup semifinal with the Giants recording a 3-0 win. A home and home with the Coventry Blaze the following weekend saw the Panthers net six times in each game and take all four points on offer. A home midweek defeat against the Guildford Flames was followed up last weekend with a shootout loss in Sheffield on Saturday night before the Panthers hosted the Manchester Storm and prevailed 3-1. In midweek the Panthers had the Belfast Giants as visitors in the second leg of their Challenge Cup semifinal and narrowly failed to overturn their three goal deficit as they handed the Giants their first shutout of the season with a 2-0 win but fell short by a goal on aggregate. Before heading to Fife the Panthers host the Dundee Stars this weekend.
