Weekend Recap – Week 23

On Wednesday night……

Glasgow Clan 9      Fife Flyers 4           –  Elite League   

Glasgow made it 7 straight wins against the Flyers, their best streak since the 2016/17 season.

Congratulations to Ben Brown on his first ever point for the Flyers.

The 6 goals conceded in the first period is the most given up by the Flyers in any 20 minutes played this season.

The Flyers conceded their 6th shorthanded goal of the season – the Clan have now scored 15 shorties against the Flyers in all EIHL competitions – only Belfast have more with 18.

The Flyers conceded their first penalty shot since Philippe Sanche scored for Dundee on 15th October 2022.

It was the Clan’s second penalty shot award against the Flyers in all EIHL competitions and Matt Berry’s miss now has them 1 for 2 and overall the opposition are 8 for 13 on penalty shots against the Flyers.

Massimo Carozza extended his points streak to five games.

On Saturday night……

Glasgow Clan 4       Fife Flyers 0           –  Elite League   

The Flyers were shutout for the 7th time this season which leads all teams, five of those games have been on the road.

It was the second time the Flyers have been shut out by the Clan this season and the 6th time in all EIHL competitions by their West Coast rivals.

This was the Flyer 8th consecutive defeat against the Clan which equals their worst run against that opponent since the 2016/17 season.

 

On Sunday night……

Fife Flyers 3       Dundee Stars 8               –  Elite League   

The Stars made it 7 consecutive wins against the Flyers which is their best ever sequence in the EIHL against Fife.

It was also the Stars 4th win in a row in Kirkcaldy which also sets a new best for them in all EIHL competitions.

Noah Delmas missed his first game of the season meaning there will be no ever presents this season for the Flyers

Patrick Kyte has scored in each of the last three games against the Stars meaning that all of his goals this season have so far have been against Dundee.

The Flyers have not conceded a power play goal in their last 3 games.
