WEEK 22 of the 2024/25 Elite Ice Hockey League season and the Flyers return to play following the storm interruptions last weekend which forced the postponement of both of their scheduled games. They start with a home meeting against the league leading Belfast Giants on Saturday night before travelling to the Midlands on Sunday to meet the Coventry Blaze.

Following their meeting with the Flyers the weekend before Christmas the Giants then met the Clan in Glasgow on Boxing Day where they suffered their joint highest defeat on the season so far as the home side won 5-1. Two days later and the Giants reversed their fortunes on home ice with the Clan going down 4-1. The Dundee Stars provided the opponents in the final two games of 2024 and following a 5-2 win at the SEE the Giants made it back to back wins when they won 4-3 at Dundee Ice Arena on Hogmanay. It was to be a rocky start to 2025 for the Giants as they went down 5-3 on home ice to the Sheffield Steelers and then coughed up a point as they lost 3-2 in a shootout in the Midlands against the Coventry Blaze. The Nottingham Panthers visited Belfast for a two game weekend and were shutout 2-0 by the Giants in the first game who then followed up with a 4-2 win. The following weekend it was another home doubleheader for the Giants as they saw off the Steelers 4-2 and the Manchester Storm by the odd goal in five. A midweek visit to Surrey yielded two points in a 5-2 win against the Guildford Flames before a further four points were hoovered up last weekend with a shootout win at the SSE against the Coventry Blaze and a statement 4-1 win against the second placed Cardiff Devils in Wales. The Giants head to Tayside to play the Dundee Stars following their meeting with the Flyers.
